Problem framing

Problem framing is a proper diagnosis of a problem and a development of a right solution.

Stupidity is overlooking or dismissing crucial information.

Imagine:
Is an elevator in your building too slow? What is then a solution? Install a faster elevator!
However, it is a major investment with some inconvenience for residents and visitors. What about a new problem framing?
Elevator users are bored waiting for an elevator. They do not need a new elevator, they need to spend somehow their time while waiting.
That was the problem re-framing. If it is done properly, then new solutions can be developed:
  • What about installing some mirrors by an elevator?
  • Play some music.
  • Install a hand sanitizer.
Make the wait feel shorter.
That is the right solution for the right problem. Are you sure you are solving the right problems? (source)
